Homeless veterans can get assistance May 21 as part of the Salisbury VA Medical Center’s first Homeless Veteran Stand Down.

Homeless veterans can get assistance May 21 as part of the Salisbury VA Medical Center’s first Homeless Veteran Stand Down.

More than 30 community agencies will provide information and services involving housing assistance, community resources, meals, medical care, clothing and veteran’s benefits.

The event is from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Salisbury hospital. Registration will be in the Building 6 gymnasium, and services will be provided in several locations on campus.

All veterans are invited, but only those identified as homeless or in dire need will receive Department of Defense military surplus items, including boots, pants, shirts, sleeping bags, duffle bags, etc.
