Halloween has come and gone....Election season is over (phew!)....Thanksgiving is right around the corner....And then, with only 30 days from turkey time to Hannukah and Christmas, it’s full-on holiday time! Spots around town are getting ready for the holidays so why not join in the fun? Here are four Charlotte-area activities to get your family in the holiday mood.
1 - See a show
Tickets to “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” at Children’s Theatre of Charlotte have gone on sale. This world-premiere musical promises to get you laughing and in the Christmas spirit in no time. 2 - Book a seat on the Train to Christmas

the Piedmont & Northern Railway in Gastonia will host its second annual voyage. The 30-minute rides include festively-dressed train cars, hot cocoa and cookies, and a special reading of “The Train to Christmas Town.” Santa visits on board and gives each child a special gift as well. The train runs select dates from Friday, November 25 to Friday, December 23 with daytime and evening departures. Tickets begin at $29 per child, $39 per adult. 3 - Visit the Man in the Red Suit
Santa has arrived to SouthPark Mall and is available for photos. He’s also been spotted at Northlake Mall’s Adventure to Santa interactive experience and will host a special breakfast on Saturday, November 12. And Jolly Old St. Nick will arrive at Concord Mills on a racecar at 6 p.m. and a parade of holiday characters will then walk him to Santa’s Workshop. Join the fun before Santa arrives for cookie decorating, raffle prizes, and live entertainment from carolers from 4:30 - 6:00pm.
4 - TV Time
Not sure you’re up for that quite yet? Snuggle up with the kids and turn on the Hallmark Channel’s “Countdown to Christmas” and watch a holiday movie.
