It's time to clean out the garage. Do you have maternity clothes, baby items, or toys you no longer need?
Nurse family Partnership at Community Health services in Charlotte is in need of your help. Nurse Family Partnership is a program just beginning in Charlotte where nurses visit low-income women in their homes during their first pregnancy and throughout the first two years of their children’s lives to improve the health of the mothers and their children, and to improve the economic self sufficiency of the family.
Seventeen year old “Sarah” is one of the recipients of their services. She is a senior in high school and is due to have her baby in late June. Nurse Family partnership is helping her keep her dreams alive of attending college and becoming a teacher. Since a nurse has been involved, she is now seeing a doctor for her medical care, is receiving nutritious food through the WIC program, has completed her college applications, and is learning skills to become a good parent to her baby.
The Nurse Family Partnership empowers these young women to become good parents resulting in healthy families. Many of these young women do not have the means to purchase necessary baby equipment/furniture, maternity clothes, baby toys, books, etc. If you have items you wish to donate please contact Rachel Smith or e-mail her at
