The old is new again, at least when it comes to baby names.
According to the Social Security Administration's annual list of the most popular baby names in 2008, the top three names for boys were Jacob, Michael and Ethan. For girls, Emma, Isabella and Emily.
In North Carolina, the most popular's boy name in 2008 was William, followed by Joshua, Jacob, Christopher and Ethan. The most popular girl's name was Emma, followed by Madison, Ava, Emily and Abigail.
In South Carolina, William and Madison topped the list. Also making the top 5 were Jayden for boys and Olivia for girls.
