RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) – A North Carolina man has been charged with child abuse for storing guns in his children's toy box.
The News & Observer of Raleigh reported Tuesday that 39-year-old Reginald Lamont Keith of Raleigh is charged with three counts of misdemeanor child abuse.
Court records show that Keith is accused of letting “known gang members” gather at his home and store loaded guns in his children's toy box last month. Records show Keith has two children under age 16.
Keith told a Wake County magistrate Monday the guns belonged to his nephew and Keith didn't know the guns were in his home.
It was unclear if he had an attorney.
