The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools’ Parent University and the Junior League of Charlotte will co-sponsor the showing of a television film Thursday night that studies the lives of five students whose families face a crisis.
“In Our Words” is a look at local students and how they coped with problems such as the loss of a mother to breast cancer; job loss in the family; military deployment of a parent; death of a friend; and domestic abuse.
The film, produced by the Junior League of Charlotte and others in the Charlotte area, will be viewed at 6:30 p.m. Thurday at Coulwood Middle School, 500 Kentberry Drive, in northwest Charlotte.
Never miss a local story.
Following the airing will be a dialogue for teens and their parents, hosted by Libby Safrit, executive director of Teen Health Connection.
