A few months into school, and you're already bored with your brown bag ideas. It seems there's just so few things to pack and the old pb & j standby just doesn't always cut it. What's a mom to do?
I recently stumbled upon Health is Wealth frozen foods and haveincorporated them into our rotation. Earth Fare was having a 20% off all frozen items, so I picked up the Chicken Nuggets and Pizza Munchees - both safe options, I presumed. Let me stop and say that I often make my own chicken nuggets because I am just not crazy about the additives that go into most brands. So what turned me on to the Health is Wealth product was that they are all-natural containing antibiotic-free chicken breast, coated in organic, whole wheat breading that crisps up perfectly. 4 nuggets pack just 130 calories, 13 grams of protein and a mere 4 grams of fat - numbers that add up nicely in my book. The pizza munchees were vegetarian and also lactose free, which was a huge turn on for me since I can't do dairy. Vine-ripe tomatoes, fat free soy cheese and other a-ok ingredients make up these super snacks that won me over with their ingredient listing and also won my kids over in their tasting. Sure they were healthier than the normal Bagel Bites, but my kids were none the wiser.
With 30 years in the industry, Health is Wealth puts out numerous vegetarian, vegan, all natural, lactose free, low sodium and antibiotic free foods, many of which are "Kid Kritics Approved". If putting good foods in your little ones' bodies is something that's important to you, I highly recommend checking out one of the many products put out by this company. You can find them at Whole Foods, Earth Fare, Publix and many more fine food stores.
