Should a registered sex offender be allowed to attend church?
That question is now a problem churches in N.C. are facing because of a new law that prohibits registered sex offenders from being within 300 feet of a school, playground, day care or children’s museum.
Critics of the law say churches should play a key role in rehabilitating offenders. Proponents, though, want to keep sex offenders away from children at all costs, even after they’ve finished their prison time.

Church members should be notified if a registered sex offender is attending their church, just like schools are notified. That way, parents can keep a close eye, without forcing out somebody who is trying to do the right thing.
