It’s time for that annual back-to-school tradition: Re-linking your grocery store loyalty cards to local schools.

Bi-Lo: Under Bi-Lo’s Booster Plus program, earn the school of your choice 1 percent of everything you spend.

Harris Teeter: Shoppers can re-link their VIC card online, at the customer service desk or even at the register. The school(s) of your choice earns money every time you purchase a Harris Teeter brand item or fill a prescription at the pharmacy. Harris Teeter is offering a special sweepstakes to get customers to relink by Nov. 3. The winner will receive a $200 Harris Teeter gift card for themselves and for the school they’ve linked with.

Food Lion: The MVP Rewards program provides free educational equipment to local schools and cash contributions to local charities. Visit FoodLion.com or visit the customer service desk to link your MVP card to your local school. Each school has an ID number and receives a percentage of sales of Food Lion brand products.

Target: Consumers with a Target Visa credit card or Target debit card can help their school earn 1 percent of all purchases made. Register on Target.com
