HomeArama, the popular showcase of new homes hosted by Charlotte’s builders, is back. It’ll be at Cheval in Mint Hill July 17-Aug. 2.
Details are being hammered out, but you can go ahead and mark your calendars.
Featured homes begin at more than $1 million, so the decision by builders to participate reflects strong confidence in the upscale market. “They’re committed to Charlotte. ... and feel very secure in an investment in Cheval,” said Diane Austin, broker in charge for the community. In fact, two of the four homes already are sold – and the other two aren’t on the market yet.
Builders are Arcadia Homes, New Old Luxury Custom Homes and the Ullman Group, which is building two houses.
Never miss a local story.
The furnished and decorated homes will be priced from about $1.1 million to more than $1.5 million. They’ll range from almost 5,000 square feet to more than 6,600.
The last HomeArama was in 2013, and featured homes priced at less than $1 million. It also was in Cheval, you might remember, but these are larger homes in a different section of the 423-acre equestrian community. The showcase site is in Creekside, which features custom homes by different builders from those of 2013.
Two years ago, highlights included open floor plans with centerpiece kitchen islands, great rooms that opened to outdoor living spaces, and designs for multigenerational living.
This year, Austin said, expect Old World look and feel in homes designed by top architects to complement specific lots. Again, “Outdoor living areas will be huge, just huge,” she said.
The four featured homes are close together, making for a layout that’s easily walkable.
Attendees say that’s important. “When we asked them (last time) ... we got that over and over,” Austin said. “They thanked us for easy walking distances.”
Parking will be in a 4 1/2-acre lot, and paths will lead through a landscaped setting to the homes.
HomeArama is hosted by the Home Builders Association of Charlotte. As the date nears, look for more information about homes, times, admission prices and special events on the builders’ online site, www.hbacharlotte.com.
The Cheval website will be updated shortly with information about the homes and showcase, too. Meanwhile, learn more about the community and featured builders at chevalnc.com. Click on Real Estate and scroll over Featured Builder Program.
