It seems consumers want to bring a soundtrack into every area of the home. First Kohler introduced the Moxie showerhead, which comes with a wireless speaker. The latest household gadget for audio streaming comes attached to a light bulb.

The AwoX Striimlight LED light’s speaker has Bluetooth technology for playing music and other audio content.

Use the bulb with a standard lamp. The LED light is equivalent to a 40-watt incandescent bulb, making it perhaps less suitable for reading.

An infrared remote controls the light and the speaker volume. The setup consists of screwing in the bulb and then pairing the speaker with a Bluetooth-enabled device such as a computer, smartphone or tablet. $99 at www.awox.com.
