Floral design 101

Nectar Floral Design will host this workshop, 3:30-5:30 p.m. Saturday, 940 N. Davidson St. Learn the basic concepts for floral design and create your own masterpiece to take home. $125 per person. Register at nectarfloraldesigns.com or call 704-905-9808.


“Seed Fitness Club”

UNC Charlotte Botanical Gardens will host a children’s botanical program, 1:30-3 p.m. Sunday at the McMillan Greenhouse, 9201 University City Blvd. Children ages 4-8 can learn how seeds grow. How, when and where to buy a plant

Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden’s “First Tuesday” presentation for April will be at noon Tuesday, 6500 S. New Hope Road, Belmont. The staff will offer expertise and give a first look at plants they’ve been preparing for the upcoming spring plant sale. Attendees are encouraged to bring a bag lunch. The presentation is free with garden admission: $12 for adults, $10 for adults 60 and older, and $6 for children ages 4-12; free for members. Details: www.dsbg.org.
