After years of exploring rugged wilderness together, from Colorado backcountry to Montana’s Glacier National Park to Yellowstone in Wyoming, the husband-and-wife team of Lee and Ale Warden decided to turn their love of the outdoors into a business. The couple recently opened Brushy Mountain Outdoor Store in Mooresville, which sells gear, apparel, and footwear for hiking, running, and traveling by such noted brands as Patagonia and Kavu. Lee, who has completed a month-long leadership trip in the Chugach Mountains of Alaska, says both he and his wife hope to get others excited about exploring nature and embracing the store’s motto that "Life is Better Outdoors."
