Armed with a Nashville record contract and lots of buzz over new her four-song EP, Mooresville recording artist Analise Malick, 13, recently released a music video for her song “Not.” Malick first studied music and singing at Masterworks School of the Arts in Mooresville and later Creative EJ in Cornelius. Last summer she traveled to Nashville with a demo CD and inked a deal with Lamon Records and recorded her EP at Nashville’s Quad Studios, where Taylor Swift recorded her first two albums. Malick’s first video, “1,000 Things,” already has more than 60,000 YouTube views, a number she hopes to surpass with “Not.” What’s next for Malick? She once again has her sites set on Nashville—“One of my goals is to sing at the Grand Ole Opry this year,” she says. Follow Malick on Facebook at www.facebook.com/analise.malick
