Try paddle boarding Skip the motorboat—and its carbon footprint—one Saturday and visit My Aloha Sports & Fitness Inc. for paddleboard and kayak rentals. Not only is this a sustainable activity, it’s also a great work out. Fitness programs and classes for groups are available so you can get fit while hanging with friends.

Take a hike The Lake Norman area is chock full of public biking and hiking trails so dust off your bikes or throw on your tennis shoes and head to the trails for the day. For great lakefront trails, tennis courts, playgrounds and picnic sites, head to Jetton Park.

½ ripe avocado 2 tablespoons coconut oil

Instructions: In a small bowl, mash the avocado until creamy. Warm coconut oil slightly and mix together with the avocado. Apply mask all over your face and let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes. Rinse with warm water.
