It’s only natural that a place as picturesque as Lake Norman would have a vibrant arts scene. And these days it’s easier than ever to soak it in at local spots and events. Cornelius recently announced that its fast-growing Arts Center will expand into a new spot downtown. And while that won’t open for a few more years, its current arts programs such as film program Studio C Cinema and the new annual ‘Tawba walks festival are already drawing crowds. This month, head to Davidson for April is for Arts, its annual celebration of art and culture in North Mecklenburg. And don’t miss the month long series’ Art on the Green festival, a multi artist event on the Davidson Village Green on April 26 and 27 (www.exploredavidsonnc.com)
Local artist Alice Garbrick has created absorbent stone coasters featuring a painting of Davidson’s town hall. You can find these and other local treasures at this month’s Art on the Green. (www.DavidsonWatercolor.com)
