THE REASON: It’s the signature annual fundraiser for the Levine Museum of the New South. THE BUZZ: Over the years the event has featured food from regional inns and resorts, but this year co-chairs Haley Poole and Katherine Mulford along with the other volunteers and organizers came up with the idea to make the theme “local flavor”the event highlighted the cuisine, cocktails and culture of the Carolinas with the local food movement incorporated throughout, and it was a huge successhonorary chairs were Sarah and Tim Belk, and Kim and Johnny Belkthe surprise musical guest was talented Carolinian Katherine Whalen, the former lead singer for the Squirrel Nut Zippers who has a new album out with her band Katherine Whalen and the Fascinators.
