THE REASON: A fundraiser for The Autism Foundation of the Carolinas. THE BUZZ: Along with the oyster roast there was also jazz from Sabra Callas and music from the band Crossroadsthis was the nonprofit’s third annual event to raise money for its inclusion-based programs for children with autismthe importance of the foundation hit home when a few days after the fundraiser, the Center for Disease Control released numbers reflecting that 1 in 88 children in the U.S. are now being diagnosed with autism, nearly doubling the prevalence since the CDC began tracking the numbers
