Thursday’s Purses With Power event promises to be the biggest, chicest version to date.
The annual event raises funds and awareness for The Arthritis Foundation. Last year more than 300 people attended, raising $45,000 for arthritis research, programs and education, organizer Kathryn Thompson says.
The stars of the night? Endless designer handbags in the silent auction: Kate Spade, Michael Kors, Kooba, Cole Haan, Orla Kiely, Dakine, Tepper Jackson, Big Buddha, Jessica Simpson, Ivanka Trump, Hobo International, Coach, Vera Bradley, Scout by Bungalow.
Other items and experiences including jewelry, restaurants, spa and beauty treatments, will be part of the silent auction as well. The event will also feature a fashion show and a live auction including a one-week stay in the Bahamas.
Arthritis is a national health issue that disproportionately affects women and has a significant financial impact on business and the community: · 1 in 5 people have arthritis · 2.7 million people in the Carolinas have arthritis · Arthritis affects women twice as often as men
