So I’m going to welcome 2013 with a mea culpa: I was wrong about Uggs.
Well, I don’t want to go that far. Maybe I should say I have come around to Uggs. A little.
You know those ugly, unflattering shearling boots that so so many people seem to adore? The ones that have the magical power of making even the most sexy, toned legs look stumpy and chunky? I was never a fan.
And I still wouldn’t consider myself a fan, even though *gasp* I now own a pair of classic minis.
Let me explain a little (or attempt to justify to myself): The recent purchase has some two-fold logic behind it, some of which is rooted in my ongoing realization and acceptance that you get what you pay for.
First, My feet are always cold. Always. I don’t like to wear socks when I’m at home, and I need some kind of slipper on my foot.
Second, I finally got tired of having to buy slipper fUggs (fake Uggs) every year because they wore out and were never warm enough.
So no resolutions for me in 2013. Instead, I’m stepping into the new year with toasty feet and the knowledge that I can admit when I’m wrong.
