If you cook daily, then you know how frustrating it can be find the right spice when you need it. It is also frustrating when you purchase a $5 spice, only to realize when you get home that you already had it on hand. It was hiding in the back of the spice cabinet. Spices are essential to cooking. Being able to find what you need when you need it is imperative!
If you are looking for ways to store and organize your spices, then try one or all three of these easy methods.
Spice Risers I love these shelf risers. They are my go to source for most spice collections. Solid, flat bottoms are always preferred over wire bottoms. You don’t want the spices to tilt while being stored. Linus Spice Racks from The Container Store are my favorite. They have a small lip on the front that keeps the jars from sliding off and tumbling down.
IKEA Spice Rack This rack is great if you have available wall space. My only caution? It will hold a maximum of 12 spice jars. If you have a large collection like I do, then I would purchase 2 or more. Just make sure you buy the rail to go with it. IKEA has great solutions but I hate when I get home without all the parts. ;)
Spice Cabinet Door Storage I love the idea of storing some spices on the back of a cabinet door. Think about adding your most used spices to this location. Quick and easy retrieval.
Wire racks would be easy and cost effective for this method.
Until next time.. Jennifer
