Construction started today at 1327 S. Mint St, on the heels of the new urban zoning policy that passed last month enabling craft-brew veteran Brad Shell to get a jump on his goal to open Unknown Brewing in SouthEnd this fall.
The brewery will be a humongous 22,500 sq ft space complete with a 30-barrell system for widespread distribution and a glass-enclosed taproom in the front for guests. Brad hopes to have the taproom up and running with approximately 12 taps by the late summer/early fall.
I was lucky enough to attend the private get-together Brad hosted on Saturday to celebrate the groundbreaking and snapped a few photos of what the raw space currently looks like. I cannot wait to see how they transform this awesome space! Stay tuned for construction updates and beer releases from Unknown over the coming months. Visit www.unkownbrewing.com to stay connected.
