Thanks to North Carolina native Julie Lopez, putting your best foot forward just got easier. After sourcing shops for the perfect shoe to wear to her daughter's wedding only to come up empty-handed, Lopez decided to take matters into her own hands. And as an orthopedic nurse with her own foot woes, Lopez understood the appeal of designing not only a pretty shoe, but a wearable one. Her eponymous company, headquartered in Concord, sells its Italian crafted shoes exclusively through its website. Each shoe, whether a casual flat from its "Josie" collection or a strappy sandal from its spring/summer "Tess" collection, features a patent pending innovation technology designed to be an antidote for the typical pain caused from heels. Daughter Erin Lopez, who handles marketing for the company, says each seam is strategically placed in order to provide optimal comfort without taking away form aesthetics. "Not all women have perfect feet," says Erin. "They have issues and concerns but they still want to wear beautiful shoes. Our idea is to give women a shoe for every facet of their life; the more casual events, the more formal events, something to wear to work and something to wear while running errands on Saturday."
