Go racing with racers at mountain resort
Primland Resort is known for golf, hunting and its astronomical observatory, but Sept. 22-24 it shifts gears into car racing: Fans can test their skills with two of Europe’s top Le Mans competitors at the mountaintop resort and at nearby Virginia International Raceway. Denmark’s Tom Kristensen, nine-time winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race, will be joined by Switzerland’s Harold Primat, former Aston Martin driver and podium winner at Florida’s Sebring and California’s Laguna Seca tracks. They’ll show 16 thrill-seeking participants how they drive the Audi R8 and Audi R8 LMS; participants will take laps with both drivers. There will be a karting competition and dinner with Kristensen and Primat; lodgings, golfing (and/or other resort activities) included. Price: $10,000 per couple. Details: www.primland.com.
