Holidays will be afloat on N.C. coast
The Wilmington area starts the holiday season Nov. 29 and Dec. 6 with brightly lit boats parading for prizes. The N.C. Holiday Flotilla ( www.ncholidayflotilla.org) is Nov. 29 at Wrightsville Beach. From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. that day, there’s a free festival with live music at Wrightsville Beach Park; after a 21-minute fireworks show, the parade begins at 6 p.m. at Banks Channel. At 6 p.m. Dec. 6, Carolina Beach’s Island of Lights Christmas Flotilla ( www.islandoflights.org) cruises from Snows Cut to Carolina Beach Boat Basin and back. John Bordsen
