York County, S.C. -- A Columbia-area man was arrested over the weekend and charged with pointing a gun at another motorist on Interstate 77 near the York-Chester county line.
The York County Sheriff's Office says Paul Knutson, 24, was charged in connection with an incident on northbound I-77. A woman from Jacksonville, Fla., told the S.C. Highway Patrol that a man driving in front of her started slamming on his breaks.
The woman said that when she passed the car, the driver pointed a gun at her and sped off. Knutson told deputies he pointed a pistol at the Florida woman because he thought she was pointing a gun at him, according to the sheriff's office.
A sheriff's office report says authorities found a pistol and ammunition in the glove box of Knutson's vehicle.
