Two candidates joined the contest for Charlotte City Council seats Friday, the midway point in the election's two-week filing period.
Matthew Ridenhour, a Republican, filed to run for one of four at-large seats. And Democrat Darrell Bonapart filed to run in District 5, challenging longtime incumbent Democrat Nancy Carter.
Filing for municipal and school board races continues through July 17; keep up with the candidates, including Web sites and contact information, at http:// www.meckboe.org/ pages/ Candidate/ Candidate List. html
