Rocking and talking for Alzheimer's

Volunteers from across Charlotte rocked on specially decorated chairs at The Square on Monday and answered questions to raise awareness about Alzheimer's disease. According to a report released Monday, more than 35 million people around the world are living with Alzheimer's or other types of dementia. Barring a medical breakthrough, the World Alzheimer Report projects dementia will nearly double every 20 years. Monday's event in Charlotte, which marked World Alzheimer's Day, was sponsored by the Western Carolinas Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association (Web site: www.alz.org/northcarolina).
