HARTFORD, Conn. Hartford police say a city officer investigating a series of burglaries was shot during an early morning foot chase with a fleeing suspect, who was caught and arrested by other officers.
Police say 28-year-old Officer Michael Bodner was shot in the arm and leg shortly after 12:30 a.m. Wednesday and was in stable condition Wednesday at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center.
Police say Bodner was attempting to arrest 26-year-old Dwayne Powell of Hartford. Powell was injured during the arrest and was taken to the hospital, where he was treated and released. His injuries weren't disclosed.
Powell faces charges including attempted murder and assault on a police officer. He is scheduled to appear in Superior Court on Thursday.
