Trucking company to close Charlotte facility, lay off 124
A transportation company called Ryder Integrated Logistics is closing its Charlotte facility, resulting in the layoff of 124 people there.
The facility at 11515 Granite St. will close Aug. 28, Ryder said in a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN) notice. Under federal law, companies must file WARN notices when they make mass layoffs, close plants and change ownership.
A representative from Ryder could not be reached for comment.
Ryder’s Charlotte location provides transportation solutions for General Motors’ service parts operation, according to the company’s website.
