Charlotte-based The Employers Association announced the winners of the 2014 HR Excellence Awards, honoring top human resource professionals throughout the region. The Babcock Award went to Mel Collins, vice president of human resources for Pharr Yarns LLC in McAdenville. Debbie Lawrence, human resources manager at Peak 10 in Charlotte, won the Promising HR Professional Award. Chris Peek, deputy county manager/chief of staff and chief human resources officer for the Mecklenburg County government, is the Strategic HR Leadership Award winner.
Indian Land, S.C.-based INSP has entered into a multiyear renewal agreement with Time Warner Cable. The deal includes expanding the network’s reach from TWC’s TV Essentials package to the digital basic tier. The network also finalized a new distribution agreement with the National Cable Television Cooperative, which ensures the family entertainment network will continue to be available to NCTC subscribers across more than 950 independent operators.
