A Charlotte location of Arizona-based P.F. Chang’s was one of the restaurants affected by the chain’s security breach, which involved potentially stolen credit and debit card information.
The Asian-themed restaurant chain announced the breach last month after it was alerted of the incident by the U.S Secret Service. On Monday, it released the locations of 33 affected restaurants, which included the P.F. Chang’s on Perimeter Parkway near Northlake Mall. The breach at that location lasted from Oct. 19 to Oct. 26, 2013. The chain’s other Charlotte-area location, at Phillips Place, was not listed among the affected restaurants.
Credit and debit card numbers, the card holder’s name and the card’s expiration date might have been stolen at the 33 sites, according to a press release from the chain. A spokesperson at the Perimeter Parkway location declined further comment.
P.F. Chang’s said the breach has been contained as of June 11 and it is investigating the incident. The restaurant chain encouraged customers who might have been affected to monitor their accounts and report fraudulent activity.
The company noted that as the investigation continues it may identify other locations where data may have been compromised or other date ranges.
P.F. Chang’s China Bistro Inc., based in Scottsdale, owns its namesake restaurants and Pei Wei Asian Diners. The company was taken private in 2012 by Centerbridge partners LP for about $1.1 billion.
Data breaches have occurred at other major U.S. corporations recently, including Target, Neiman Marcus, Sally Beauty Holdings and Michaels Stores.
