Premier buying software firm for $117 million

Premier Inc., which provides purchasing and performance improvement services to an alliance of 3,000 hospitals, on Tuesday said it’s buying software provider TheraDoc for $117 million in cash.

Premier Inc., which provides purchasing and performance improvement services to an alliance of 3,000 hospitals, on Tuesday said it’s buying software provider TheraDoc for $117 million in cash.

The Charlotte-based company said the transaction is expected to close in the fiscal quarter ending Sept. 30, subject to potential purchase price adjustments.

TheraDoc, a subsidiary of Hospira, provides hospitals with software that protects patients from infections, harmful drug interactions and other adverse situations.
