Brazilian companies to buy Chiquita

The fate of hundreds of Charlotte jobs and millions in local and state tax incentives remained unclear Monday after two Brazilian companies announced they’d reached a deal to buy Charlotte-based Chiquita Brands International for $14.50 a share.
