Holiday employment should be easier to find this season than in the past few years. Even though retailers at the outlets hired hundreds just a few months ago when they opened, they still need additional help.
Shopping at Charlotte Premium Outlets on Friday, Jamie Padilla stumbled upon a job fair.
“I actually didn't know it was happening!” she says. “I came by shopping, and everybody's all set up, so I'm like, well I need a job.” She applied at Coach and Michael Kors.
“Additional help is always great so we can serve all of our shoppers that will be here in the next couple of weeks,” says Charlotte Premium Outlets Marketing Director Holly Roberson.
And like-minded seasonal hiring is happening all over our area.
At Shutterfly's massive factory in Fort Mill, they'll be hiring 1500 extra workers for the holidays. But if you want to land a seasonal job, you'll have to act fast - Shutterfly, for example, will only be hiring for another few days.
And you'll also have to distinguish yourself from other applicants, like the job hopefuls we spoke with.
“I can help everybody,” says Padilla. “I love being able to talk someone into buying something. It just makes me feel confident.”
“Good service,” adds job applicant Dayquan Williams. “It's a hundred percent about providing good service.”
