Duke Energy added a new director Thursday, former Institute of Nuclear Power Operations executive William Webster Jr., effective Sept. 1.
INPO is a nonprofit organization that helps nuclear plants run safely and reliably. Webster most recently was responsible for nuclear plant and corporate evaluations, plant operations, technical support, and industry performance activities.
Webster retired as executive vice president of INPO on June 30. He will join the nuclear oversight and regulatory policy committees of Duke’s board.
Earlier in his career he was certified as a senior reactor operator at Duke’s Brunswick power plant near Southport. Before joining INPO in 1982, he served in the Navy and graduated Villanova University with a civil engineering degree.
