Wells Fargo has presented a $100,000 check to First Tee of Charlotte, the third year the bank has done so in connection with the Wells Fargo Championship golf tournament, Charlotte region President Kendall Alley said. The program buys golf equipment and trains physical education teachers on instructing students about the game. Students also take field trips to the golf course. Wells supports First Tee programs around the country. The nonprofit will use the money to expand its in-school programs to the 30 remaining CMS elementary schools not yet taking part, Executive Director Ike Grainger said. By next year, the First Tee program will also be in a few schools in surrounding counties. Andrew Dunn
