Regions hires Wells Fargo banker to lead energy group

Regions Bank said Monday that it has hired a former Wells Fargo Securities banker to lead its group that provides financing and other capital markets services to energy companies.

Regions Bank said Monday that it has hired a former Wells Fargo Securities banker to lead its group that provides financing and other capital markets services to energy companies.

Brian Tate will be based in Charlotte, reporting to John Barton, head of specialized industries. Regions has a growing capital markets operation in Charlotte.

Regions says it plans to expand its energy and natural resources group, which serves clients from offices in Charlotte, Houston and Jackson, Miss.

“Regions is committed to the energy and power industries and hiring Brian to lead the expansion of our energy and natural resources platform is a key step forward for us and especially for our clients,” Barton said in a statement.
