An apartment complex just off Park Road and Woodlawn Road is set to be demolished and replaced with a new, upscale complex, according to rezoning plans filed with the city.
The plan, which also includes the Melrose Place apartment complex and several adjoining single-family houses, would cover almost 3 acres between Drexel Place and Woodlawn Road. The plan was filed by 1351 Woodlawn (Melrose) LLC, the company that owns the site.
According to rezoning documents, the new apartment complex would include:
▪ Up to 265 apartments.

The plan is up for a rezoning hearing in September before Charlotte City Council.
