A new development planned on South Tryon Street calls for 74 townhouses and a self-storage facility, according to a rezoning request filed with the city.
The development in the Steele Creek area would be built by BNA Homes, which is also building houses in the University City area, Lake Wylie, Mooresville and south Charlotte.
The plans show a townhouse development on what’s currently 9.5 acres of vacant land near South Tryon Street and Steele Creek Road. A self-storage facility would be built on South Tryon Street, while the townhouses would be built off Wright’s Ferry Road, behind the self-storage facility and separated from it by a new street. The two-story townhouses would be served by a new internal street network.
The plan is scheduled for a public hearing Feb. 15 before Charlotte City Council.
