Drivers curious about the big new QuickTrip gas station and convenience store on Wilkinson Boulevard will have to wait a few more weeks to fuel up at the station, which is just west of uptown Charlotte.
The new QT at 3025 Wilkinson Boulevard will open in about a month or month and a half, said Mike Thornbrugh, QT’s manager of public and government affairs.
Construction is all but complete on the 5,700 square-foot building, which is about 1,100 square feet larger than a typical QT store, Thornbrugh said. All that’s left, Thornbrugh said, is store walk-throughs, merchandising, checking of the tanks and other miscellaneous checklist items.
The new QT will have nine fueling dispensers, which means it can accommodate 18 cars filling up at the same, Thornbrugh said.
QuikTrip, a Tulsa, Okla.-based chain, only relatively began its foray into the Charlotte area. It’s known for its made-to-order food options including sandwiches and personal pizzas, as well as a slew of beverage and packaged snack options. There are now about 30 QT stores in the Charlotte area, with several others under construction.
