OurHealth, an Indianapolis-based operator of health-care clinics, is doubling its footprint in the Charlotte area.
The company this month announced that it has secured a $37 million investment round, led by San-Francisco firm White Oak. OurHealth will use part of those funds to open five new MyClinic locations in Charlotte over the next two years, said Ben Evans, founder and CEO of OurHealth.
As part of the local expansion, OurHealth will hire 35-40 people, Evans said. Positions will be clinical, managerial and technical.
The company is still doing site selection for its new Charlotte clinics, Evans said. The plan is to open the new locations sometime next year.
OurHealth first entered the local market with five clinics in early 2016.
“It’s been going really well. We’ve had great utilization of the clinics, and the impact on people’s health has been demonstrable,” Evans said of the Charlotte market.
At MyClinic locations, patients whose employers are part of the network can get low-cost services including annual exams, immunizations, blood tests, generic drug prescriptions and treatment procedures. The company said that at its clinics, patients get to spend a longer-than-average time with a health care provider.
OurHealth also said it will use its latest funding round to expand its network into eight new markets, starting with Atlanta. The company will also invest in sales, marketing, technology and data security.
