Rhino Market & Deli is getting closer to opening its second location, which is in a popular stretch of uptown Charlotte.
The new eclectic market will open its doors sometime during the first few weeks of July in a 2,900 square-foot space at 400 S. Tryon, the 33-story office tower facing Romare Bearden Park that is in the midst of a major renovation project.
Ahead of the opening, the new market is staffing up its kitchen with sandwich makers and dishwashers, owner Rob Rondelez said. Those interested can apply at Rhino’s original location at 1500 West Morehead, which opened in November 2014, he added.
Rhino’s second location is next door to a new farm-to-table restaurant called b.good, which could be opening as soon as the end of June, according to a spokeswoman for Trinity Partners, which owns the building with DRA Advisors LLC.
The new Rhino will have indoor seating for up to 50 customers and will include a breakfast menu and quick-service deli options for lunch.
The market will also include a retail store and bar, where customers can buy groceries, six-packs of beer and wine by the glass.
“I have always liked the idea of downtown. It’s a place where I always felt like I wasn’t part of personally. Now I feel like it’s a viable place for people who live there and work there,” Rondelez said.
