A new Vietnamese restaurant called Bánh Mì and Tea Company is opening soon in the Ayrsley development in Charlotte’s Steele Creek neighborhood.
The fast-casual restaurant, which will offer items like traditional bánh mì sandwiches and bubble teas, will occupy a 1,741 square-foot space that was previously home to the breakfast restaurant @Dawn, which closed in late April. The new restaurant is expected to open this fall.
The restaurant will be run by local operator Tien Nguyen, who was part of a group that owned and operated Salsarita’s restaurants throughout Charlotte for more than a decade, according to a statement Thursday.
“Bánh Mì and Tea Company is an ideal fit for Ayrsley, where we have worked hard to assemble a variety of strong, local restaurant concepts,” said William Hodges, vice president and broker in charge at New Forum, the Charlotte real estate development firm representing the landlord on the lease.
Ayrsley is the new mixed-use development in southwest Charlotte. In addition to a handful of other retailers opening in Ayrsley, including MyrAngel Beauty Institute, doormaker Jeld-Wen is constructing a new corporate headquarters in the new development.
