The 30,000-square-foot store at 3151 West Highway 74 will be one of six Gander Outdoors retail locations in North Carolina to reopen under a new banner, according to a statement from the popular hunting store Monday.
At its Monroe store, Gander Outdoors will host a day-long grand reopening celebration Saturday starting at 9 a.m. that includes free coffee and pastries, gift giveaways and family activities.
Gander Outdoors has other area locations that it has rebranded in Mooresville and Gastonia, but it is not clear when those will open. A company spokeswoman could not immediately be reached.
The company previously operated a south Charlotte store at 13610 Hoover Creek Blvd., but has not provided any details on that location's future.
Gander Outdoors sells guns, camping gear, hunting apparel, footwear and other outdoor sporting goods. The chain was acquired last May by Illinois-based Camping World Holdings Inc.
“We look forward to seeing large crowds across the country as we continue the next phase of reopening Gander retail stores,” said Marcus Lemonis, chairman of Camping World Holdings.
