Brewpublik, the craft beer delivery service that launched in Charlotte earlier this year, is expanding into Raleigh.
The startup will host a launch party Friday evening at Raleigh’s Rally Point Sports Bar. Since its Charlotte launch, the company has picked up 500 customers locally and recently said it’s getting $5 million over five years from venture capital firm SierraMaya360.
Expansion into the Raleigh market is one of the milestones upon which the venture capital firm’s investment is contingent. Hoping to capitalize on tailgate spending, Brewpublik also recently started delivering craft beer to Panthers games.
“With our recent growth in Charlotte, we’re excited to expand our delivery routes to another thriving city,” Charlie Mulligan, one of Brewpublik’s co-founders, said in a statement.
Brewpublik’s service in Raleigh includes delivery of four types of craft beer in six, 12 or 24-packs once a month for $20, $30, $55 or $90, depending on the month-by-month subscription, the company said in a statement Tuesday.
Deliveries will go to homes within 30 minutes of downtown Raleigh, including Durham and eastern Chapel Hill. The launch party Friday will feature local draft beer from Raleigh Brewing Co., Fortnight and Haw River, as well as live music. It lasts from 5 until 8 p.m.
Brewpublik was started by Mulligan and his friend Zach Jamison, both Charlotteans.
