Matthews-based Renfrow Farms has expanded into wedding and event floral design.
The family-run company, which is part of Renfrow Hardware, specializes in organically grown flowers in dozens of varieties. It will offer full-service design for a limited number of weddings and is currently booking for 2016.
From May through October, Renfrow also will offer a bulk option, which features buckets of seasonal mixtures of focal and filler flowers for bouquets and centerpieces for weddings, rehearsal dinners, showers and other special events.
Renfrow can design and create technical pieces, such as bouquets and boutonnieres, as well, the company said this week. The farm is not available as a venue rental, though it does open its wildflower fields for on-site photography sessions.
Pressly Blackley Williams, daughter of Renfrow Hardware owner David Blackley, describes growing flowers for her own wedding in September 2014 as a “wild but successful experiment.”
“I did one very elaborate wedding in August 2015 that really sealed my confidence that I can and want to pursue floral event design as part of the farm’s diverse business,” says Blackley Williams, adding that she already has three weddings booked for 2016.
Renfrow Farms is in downtown Matthews at 409 W. Charles St. Information on booking can be found at www.renfrowfarms.com.
