Charlotte Eye Ear Nose and Throat Associates, Morris-Jenkins Heating and Air, and software company Skookum are the Charlotte region’s Top Workplaces for 2016.
A total of 50 companies made the Charlotte Observer’s Top Workplaces report, conducted with Workplace Dynamics, a Pennsylvania-based survey firm.
For our Observer report, 1,070 employers participated, and 50 made the top list.

▪ Specialty care provider Charlotte Eye Ear Nose and Throat Associates, PA tops the large-company category. It has 19 locations in North and South Carolina and emphasizes promoting from within the organization. This is the practice’s second consecutive Top Workplaces award.
▪ Charlotte-based Morris-Jenkins Heating and Air, tops in the midsize company category, has about 265 employees that CEO Dewey Jenkins knows by name. With phones answered until midnight and weekend and evening service, Jenkins says the company has changed customers’ expectations in the local heating and air industry.
▪ Software company Skookum is the No. 1 employer in the small-company division. From its office in uptown Charlotte, the web and app builder hosts Friday Tech Talks, open to the public, where local people talk about technology and how it is changing their industry. Company benefits include no set limit on paid time off or sick days.
