Food service worker Julie Waldridge, 31, isn’t afraid of a dare. Once, her boss challenged her to make a dish she never tried: Egg in its Nest sandwiches during the breakfast shift at 24 Hundred, the café at Compass Group North America headquarters.
She cut out the center of the bread and put the egg inside, fried it, and added ham, cheese, and tomato.

“A woman had never heard of it, she’d never seen it. She doesn’t like ham, she doesn’t like processed cheese. I put it together. She came back an hour later, was like, ‘I just want you to know that was the best sandwich I ever had.’ ” They sold out on the sandwich that day.
“I love it,” says Waldridge, who has been with the food service and support services company for six years. “I’m eager to come to work every day.”
