The properties shown have loans that were packaged and resold to investors, also calledcommercial mortgage backed securities, or CMBS.Packaged loans are estimated to account for about 20 percent of commercial loans nationwide.They are typically for income-producing properties such as hotels, apartments, shopping centers and offices.These loans require more financial disclosure than others.
Properties on the map have loans that servicers have put on their "watchlist" or arein foreclosure or are otherwise facing stress, such as being unable to refinance.A few loans, shown with blue markers, have been liquidated or otherwise terminated at a loss.
